Arrival at the MTC

In front of the temple in Provo

Friday, May 23rd, 2014

Hey, this is Elder Cline's mom, and I'll be posting blogs for him as requested. He is on a mission, called to serve in the Nevada, Las Vegas West mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Anything added by me will be in italics and normal font will be his words.  Enjoy!!  :)  These first pictures are from my sister Laura and her husband Floid, who took Steve (oops... I mean Elder Cline) to the MTC (Missionary Training Center) for us.

Riding to the MTC;  that's Floid driving

Missionaries are no longer allowed backpacks due to safety reasons.  We call this shoulder bag his man purse.  He doesn't care, and thinks it's pretty awesome.

Heading into the MTC with his guide

From Elder Cline's first letter home:

Hey everybody! I gotta tell y'all, the MTC is a spectacular place! Oh, not to forget that I got to see Elder Tonini at the airport!
Steve and Jacob were once in the same ward.  They entered the MTC on the same day, and got to sit next to each other on the same flight from Colorado.

When I first got to the MTC, I had a host that took me through the whole process of getting my name tag and instructions on the way in.

My host brought me to my room and then I headed out to my first meeting right away! On the way out I got to meet my first companion who also has the privilege of going to the best mission; the Las Vegas West Mission as well: Elder Croysdale! He's such a great companion with a strong commitment towards serving the Lord!

We also got to meet our district during our first meeting. One group of sisters get to have the experience of going to the Las Vegas West Mission also! We also got elders going to the Denver South, Colorado mission and we got another group of sisters that are going to be serving in the Kirkland, Ohio visiting center! I'm so excited for them all. Oh, by the way I got to meet the missionaries going to the Houston South, Texas Mission! In 2 weeks from today start looking for a Elder Allen and Elder Webster! They're awesome and great to talk to! Well, I don't have much time to talk but just know I love all y'all and hope y'all are all able to come closer to Christ!
